Mbanya forme une Collectivité Coutumière installée au cœur de la Ville
de Douala, Capitale économique du Cameroun. S.M Elong Kotto est Chef Coutumier et Chef de
Chefferie de cette entité devenue célébre en référence au baptême traditionnel du Président Paul BIYA.
Le nouveau président du Conseil panafricain des Autorités traditionnelles et coutumières (CPATC) vient d’être intronisé. Cela, après l’assemblée générale ordinaire du Conseil panafricain des autorités traditionnelles et coutumières (Cpatc ) tenue le 13 janvier 2024 au Bénin. Sa Majesté Dr Elong Kotto Patrick a été adoubé par ses pairs. Il vient de recevoir les bénédictions, l’accoutrement et son bâton de commandement.
A l’en croire: «Nous y travaillons depuis pratiquement 5 ans. Nous avons vu le bout du tunnel. Aujourd’hui, la chefferie traditionnelle doit rester unie pour un lendemain meilleur. A mes pairs, je dis merci. Que nos Ancêtres nous bénissent et que l’Afrique rayonne».
Prenant la parole à son tour, le Secrétaire général Sa Majesté Dansou Gazozo Alphonse indique : «Nous sommes appelés à œuvrer à travers nos activités pour le développement du Continent. Nous allons élargir nos relations avec les institutions également partout sur la planète.
Un nouveau bureau exécutif a été mis sur pied avec bien sûr des statuts et règlements intérieurs revus.
Grosso modo, l’on retient de l’AGO du 13 janvier 2024 à Cotonou (Bénin), qu’en ce qui concerne le point lié au renouvèlement du bureau exécutif, un projet de 11 postes a été proposé. L’ossature du nouveau Bureau Exécutif se présente comme suit : les membres d’honneur au nombre de 5, les coordonnateurs des pays au nombre de 7, les coordonnateurs des régions au nombre de 5. Il est à noter que quelques postes restent à pourvoir de façon progressive. Le programme d’action du Cpatc va de 2024 à 2026.
