Mbanya forme une Collectivité Coutumière installée au cœur de la Ville
de Douala, Capitale économique du Cameroun. S.M Elong Kotto est Chef Coutumier et Chef de
Chefferie de cette entité devenue célébre en référence au baptême traditionnel du Président Paul BIYA.
Le Conseil Panafricain des Autorités Traditionnelles et Coutumières (CPATC/PACTCA) est une association créée à l’initiative des gardiens des traditions de plusieurs pays d’Afrique, réunis en République du Bénin les 28, 29 et 30 septembre 2014 à DAHE pour jeter les bases de l’Organisation, puis en Assemblée Générales Constitutives du 23 au 26 juillet 2016 à Cotonou qui en abrite le siège, avec l’accompagnement du Centre International de Recherche et de Documentation sur les Traditions et Langues Africaines (CERDOTOLA).
Ses objectifs sont principalement, la promotion du dialogue intercommunautaire, la réconciliation et la tolérance entre groupes ethniques, en particulier dans les pays en conflits ; la mise à contribution de l’expérience, du savoir et du savoir-faire des autorités traditionnelles et coutumières dans le domaine de la prévention , la résolution et la gestion des crises et conflits en Afrique ; le soutien à la reconstruction post-conflit, la paix et le développement, la promotion de la gouvernance locale et du respects des principes éthiques et moraux liés au caractère sacré de la personne humaine ; enfin, la promotion du patrimoine africain et la revendication des biens culturels illégalement exportés.
L’Objet du CPATC en Diaspora est de Promouvoir la culture et les traditions auprès des populations en quête du développement socio-culturel et traditionnel en Afrique et dans la diaspora.
